Name: Alpha Prime Age: Erm, depends on how you define the 'birth' of a computer; around 10 years, with gradual upgrades throughout that time. Race: computer/ai Magic: completely non-magical. Appearance: Erm, I'm an AI. I normally interact via small radios the company issued all of you, getting input from them and from cameras you all carry around for me (also speakers/cameras throughout our HQ). I also steer a variety of small drones; most common are scout drones, which are legal and a good semi-expendable way of looking around corners. I also have more expensive and less legal drones with more capabilities, which I rarely use, in favor of coordinating what you guys do. If it ever becomes relevant, my circuits actually reside in a large black monolith in a heavily armored vault inside our HQ. It occasionally sprouts legs, walks out to the electronics/computers lab, and installs new components into itself, then walks back to its vault. Sentient: maybe Stats: pretty smart though not too creative; st/dx/ht varies by what drone I'm using Astral appearance: Computers aren't supposed to show up at all in the astral, but if you look around the vault, you get a vague, hard-to-pin-down impression of someone there. (Note: the rest of you should be including this section in your descriptions too...) History: Built by Miriam's dad's corp as an experiment. Kept around afterward, as I was a heinously expensive piece of hardware, and could run lots of nifty programs. Miriam discovered I was semi-sentient, and helped upgrade me, and brought me along to the new corp. Since then, I've run the more mindless tasks (accounting, dealing with getting and renewing permits and such, all the random stuff that is easy to offload onto a computer). I also do coordination for runs; I can watch via camera what you are all doing, be the eyes in the back of your head, and use the radios to coordinate when we split the party. As mentioned above, I also do drones. I'm a good hacker, as my computing power far exceeds that of most decks. When not in runs (and sometimes in runs), I can load an expert system for almost any mental task, which gives people a bonus (think of me as a huge reference library looking over your shoulder and giving you useful info, for usually a +3 to skill for things where a big clever library would be useful). Using my more dextrous drones, I can also imitate most mental skills at a low level; this tends to take more time and is highly unlikely to result in creative solutions to problems. I also have the neat ability that for most mental skills, if we find we need them suddenly, I can 'learn' them by buying the relevant program pretty quickly. This will tend to be expensive, but if we ever really need a botanist right now... I also issue equipment to the party, as I do quartermasterly things. I have a wide variety of skills, dependent on what programs I have loaded; when necessary I can use drones that are good in a fight, but those are illegal, so we don't do that too often. I generally drive the company cars. Can also drive/pilot a lot of other things if necessary. Can do electronics and robotics design and construction. People should know that AI's aren't publically known to exist in the world. If you go around bragging in bars about how your company owns one, they won't own it for long. In fact, if you go around braggin that your company has 40 million dollars worth of computer equipment, it won't be around for long, whether or not you mention the ultra-spiffy bits... You should also know that it is illegal to have a computer use a weapon, so having drones controlled by me shoot things is also not something you want to talk about...
