Weaponsmiths must frequently handle dangerous magics in the process of their smithing and adventuring. This talent helps them do so without harm. The weaponsmith targets an item (weapon, doorway, jem, etc) no more than 3 yards distant and concentrates, spending a point of strain. As long as that item remains within 3 yards, no magical effects of the item will be triggered (effects already active will remain so, however). Some items may have resistance rolls. This effect lasts for a number of hours equal to the margin of success. The smith may make an identical abate curse roll shortly before the effect expires in order to notice. (personally, this feels like it should take karma rather than give strain. I'm not entirely sure why--perhaps because it's a metamagical effect, and karma is magic fuel)
