Rag Vorn suggested that it might be a good idea for most of our little group to spend most of it's time somewhere other than in town. RV: * "Camrish could use a magical defense corps--the world has come a long way in the last half-millennia, but juvenile stunts are not advancing that cause." * Gilad: *"For the moment, there's this trading company camped outside our lack-of-a-door. someone needs to decide what to do about it, and I'm afraid, like it or not, that person appears to be you."* They appear to come to the conclusion that we should allow the OTC to set up a shop in the town, but to circulate urban legends and horror stories about "so and so went in and sold their entire future production, including any and all children" and such. Rag Vorn: *It makes sense to allow them to have the building: they have actual records that they owned the land pre-Scourge, and to try to read the deeds from before. * Gilad *Perhaps that should be more general: If your ancestors had land, it's yours. Any deeds owned by people whose Nth generation decendants can't easily be found reverts to the City.* Rag Vorn: *I don't want to be making laws. I'm a Shaman, not a politician. A coalition of our Orkish grandfathers could be put in charge of making laws for the city. They at least have experience with that kind of thing"* Gilad: *You should also make it clear that many of the in-Caer laws would stay in effect.* RV: *"I think there are no more than 100 orks still left in the Caer"* Gilad: *"I think at some point we may want to send a group (possibly the adepts) back to the caer to invite the rest of them"* RV: *"I'd prefer you take the adept mob, such as it is, and made preparations to go scouting. I think it's going to hit the point of public outcry if you don't leave soon, and I'd much prefer that it be soon enough that you can still stop back every so often such that we all feel like we are still on the same side. I'm going to meet with Overland in the morning and invite them to reopen their store, and set up some ground rules as to what sorts of trading they will be allowed to do.If you do go back to the Caer, it would be useful for you to get the hydroponics equiptment there. That's one of the things that we did not think to pack, and we could really use it for the first few seasons until we can get a good long-term food production system set up."* *"I did notice one thing: No more than one of the people with the OTC are full adepts. One appears to be a half-adept, something that died out in our caer over the years. The leader is the only one who appears to be a true adept. If the rest of this society has a proportion of adepts as low as this, that may be something we can export.* *If you folks get to the point of taking a name for your group--I wouldn't expect that for a while, you'd need to be more cohesive first--something involving the word Camrish might be good for publicity."* Gilad: *"I think I will collect our little group, and we will set out in the morning in the direction opposite where we came in"*
