Air Dance

DEX + Rank

This talent allows the Warrior to walk on air, about 1 inch above the surface of the ground. Air Dance talent does not allow a character to stand suspended in midair, and can only be used in combination with Combat Movement. The  Air Dance step replaces the character's normal Initiative step for the round and may be used in the same round as other attack talents. If the Air Dance Test result equals at least twice an opponent's Initiative, the character can make an extra attack that round following his opponent's attack. The Warrior may only gain an additional attack against one opponent per round even though his initiative is twice that of several opponents.

Woodskin

TOU + Rank

The Wood Skin talent increases a Warrior's resistance to physical damage by causing the character's skin to become tougher. When using this talent, the character's skin takes on the appearance of wood or bark. The character must use one of her available Recovery Tests for Wood Skin each day the talent is used. The character can only use the Wood Skin talent once per day, but the effect lasts for a full 24 hours, or until the character ends it. The character makes a Wood Skin Test, adding the result to both her Death Rating and Unconsciousness Rating.

Durability

Rank

This talent increases the Death and Unconcsciousness Ratings of a character. For each rank in Durability which characters achieve, their Death Ratings are increased by an amount equal to their Toughness step at the time. The character's Unconsciousness Rating is also increased by an amount equal to its Toughness step - 1. If the character's Toughness step later increases, it will not change the Death Rating or Unconsciousness Rating increases which the character has already received; only those increases to come.

Noble Manner

CHA + Rank

Noble Manner allows a Warrior to awe his opponent with his competent, inspiring manner. The Warrior makes a Noble Manner test vs. the target's Spell Defense. If successful, the Warrior adds his rank in Noble Manner to his normal Interaction Test step. However, if the Warrior ever adopts a position or attitude which is petty or base in any way, he instead subtracts his Noble Manner talent rank from his normal Interaction Test step.

Gliding Stride

DEX + Rank

Gliding Stride is a movement talent that allows a Warrior to move in a graceful glide through the air. For each use of this talent, the character makes a Gliding Stride Test. The result gives the maximum horizontal distance in hexes the character can move in 1 round using this talent, though the character still cannot move further horizontally than his Combat Movement. The effects of Gliding Stride last for a number of rounds equal to the character's rank in Gliding Stride. Gliding Stride suspends a character in midair, but cannot suspend her higher than a number of hexes equal to her talent rank. If the character is suspended more than rank hexes above the ground, she falls to the ground, but only takes the damage he would have suffered from falling a distance equal to the difference between the Gliding Stride suspension limit and the actual height. The character also modifies the falling damage by a number of Armor Points equal to her talent rank.

If a character using Gliding Stride stands still while above the ground, she slowly sinks toward the ground. The character loses 1D6 inches of altitude each round she remains stationary until she lands on the ground. A Character may use the Gliding Stride talent to move horizontally without suffering Strain. However, moving vertically during a round, regardless of how much vertical movement is made, does cause Strain. A character may move one hex vertically for every two hexes she moves horizontally. The maximum distance the character can move vertically using Gliding Stride is equal to rank hexes.

Threadweaving

PER + Rank

Characters use Thread Weaving talent to create and weave magical threads. Characters can only have a number of threads active equal to their Thread Weaving Rank. The process of weaving a thread is described in the Earthdawn Companion. This talent also gives characters a limited version of the Astral Sense talent. The astral sight provided by Thread Weaving allows characters only enough vision to see threads and patterns.

Down Strike

STR + Rank

The Down Strike talent allows a Warrior to inflict greater-than-normal damage on a target in combat. To use this talent, the character must be dropping from a height at least one hex above her opponent when making a melee attack. The Gliding Stride talent can be used to reach this height, although it is not necessary. The character must scream like a bird of prey as she drops onto her target. If she hits her opponent, the Down Strike step substitutes for the Strength step in the Damage Test, causing the blow to inflict extra damage.

Blood Boil

Rank

With this talent a Warrior can cause extra damage to a target each time she successfully attacks it with her melee weapon. If the Warrior is successful in causing more damage to the target than the target's armor can absorb, the Warrior Boils the target's blood. A target whose blood has been Boiled must take an amount of damage each round equal to the character's rank in Blood Boil for three rounds beginning the round after being hit with Blood Boil. Armor does not protect against the damage caused by Blood Boil. A target can not be affected by more than one Blood Boil attack at any given time.

Discern Falseness

PER + Rank

With this talent a Warrior is able to tell when something she sees is not as it should be. The character first makes a Discern Falseness Test vs. the Spell Defense of the person, place or thing which appears to be false in some way. If successful, the character knows that something is amiss. On a Good success the character can Discern what should be the normal state of affairs for the target. Thus, if a Warrior were to use Discern Falseness on a target who was disguised, she might be able to discern what the target truly looks like if she achieves an Excellent test result.

Draining Blow

WIL + Rank

When a Warrior strikes a Draining Blow she can make use of her opponent's attributes for a time. If the character makes a successful Attack Test, she substitutes a Draining Blow Test for her normal Damage Test. This Draining Blow Test is made vs. the target's Spell Defense. The character character may subtract 1 of the opponent's attribute steps and add them to her own for each success level she achieves on her Draining Blow Test.

The character gains the use of these attribute steps, and the opponent loses their use, for the duration of the talent or until the target dies. A target may only be affected by, and a Warrior may only benefit from, one Draining Blow at any given time. If at any time the opponent whom the Warrior has Drained is killed, the Warrior immediately loses the benefit of those Drained steps and must drain another opponent before enjoying the benefits of a Draining Blow again.

Earth Skin

Rank

The Earth Skin talent makes a Warrior much more resistant to damage. Earth Skin requires one of the character's Recovery Tests each day it is used. The character can only use this talent once per day, and must have ranks in Wood Skin talent to use Earth Skin and must use Earth Skin on the same day she uses Wood Skin. In addition, the character's rank in Earth Skin may not exceed her Wood Skin rank. Earth Skin lasts for a full 24 hours, until Wood Skin wears off or until the character ends the effect. Earth Skin adds to the effectiveness of a character's Wood Skin talent, making the character's skin even tougher. Earth Skin allows the character to take even more damage before falling unconscious or dying. Its primary magic increases the character's Spell Defense. The character's Spell Defense and Death Ratings increase by a number equal to her rank in Earth Skin.

Combat Fury

Rank

A Warrior taking an Aggressive Attack option in combat uses Combat Fury to greatly enhance the effectiveness of her attack. The character adds a number of steps equal to her talent rank to her Attack and Damage Tests. However, because this attack is so focused on offense, add a number of steps equal to the character's talent rank - 2 (or 3, whichever is higher) to her opponent's Attack Test for any attacks made against her that round. Opponents gain no benefit on Damage Tests, however. The Strain which a character takes for using Combat Fury is in addition to the Strain caused by a normal Aggressive Attack.

Vitality

TOU + Rank

Vitality allows a character to recover damage more effectively. Each day, Vitality may be used a number of times equal to his base daily allowance of Recovery Tests (i.e., the number of Recovery Tests allotted to each character based upon their Toughness Step). Each use of Vitality counts as an additional Recovery Test above and beyond the number of Recovery Tests he may normally make in one day. These Recovery Tests may be used to recover damage or as payment for talents which require the sacrifice of a recovery test. If the talent is used as payment, a Karma Point is spent, but no dice are rolled.

Aura Armor

TOU + Rank

The Aura Armor talent allows a Warrior to temporarily create an ablative shield of Mystic Armor around her astral aura. The character makes an Aura Armor Test. The test result is equal to the number of points of Mystic Damage the shield can absorb before disappearing. Mystic Damage is any damage which the character's Mystic Armor would be able to protect her from. Once the character has taken enough Mystic Damage to cause the Aura Armor to disappear, the character's Mystic Armor then begins to protect her from damage as normal. Regardless of how much Mystic Damage the character takes, the Aura Armor fades away after 24 hours and must be renewed.
